Our Georgia Mental Health Treatment Programs
We are proud to provide a full continuum of mental health programming in order to help individuals throughout every stage of their journey to recovery. This includes both residential treatment options as well as outpatient programs that offer an increased sense of flexibility. The levels of care offered at Hand in Hand Recovery are outlined below.
Rehab
Also known as residential treatment, inpatient rehab offers a supportive environment and consistent schedule to those struggling with mental illness. While residing at our care facility, clients have the opportunity to heal away from the stresses associated with the outside world. This allows them to fully focus on improving their well-being and, therefore, their overall quality of life. Additionally, we offer detox services to those struggling with both addiction and mental health challenges.
Program (PHP)
Designed to offer an intensive level of care while incorporating a limited amount of flexibility into treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is ideal for those who have completed inpatient rehab or wish to reside at home while still receiving ample support. Participants typically attend sessions five days a week for the majority of the day. If individuals do not have a stable home environment, they are encouraged to live at a sober living facility throughout treatment.
Program (IOP)
An intensive outpatient program allows clients an increased amount of flexibility without compromising their position in mental health recovery. It is less of a time commitment than a PHP while providing more support than traditional outpatient programming. Those in an IOP usually spend three to five days a week in treatment sessions. During this time they live at home or in a sober living environment. We also offer an evening IOP for those with obligations throughout the day.
Program (OP)
The goal of our outpatient program is to help clients seamlessly transition back into their daily routines. While in an outpatient treatment program, participants attend weekly therapy sessions and support groups. Outpatient therapy session can help to continue developing coping skills for personal issues, relapse triggers, and mental health symptoms. Additionally, those in this type of programming are able to work, attend school, and uphold personal responsibilities.

How Do I Know I Need Mental Health Treatment?
The best way to determine if someone requires treatment is through an evaluation by a mental health professional. This assessment helps our care team gain a comprehensive understanding of the person’s unique challenges and create a tailored treatment approach.
Many individuals with addiction also face mental health issues, and the two often exacerbate each other. Treating both simultaneously gives a person the best chance at lasting recovery and ongoing health.
Mental Health Statistics
Across the nation, mental health challenges affect a significant portion of the population. Unfortunately, nearly 30% of adults with depression or anxiety symptoms are unable to access necessary treatment. In Georgia specifically, nearly half of the 391,000 residents in need of mental health care cannot receive treatment due to financial barriers.
Furthermore, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) reports that:
- 1.4 million adults live with a mental health condition
- 314,000 adults battled suicidal thoughts within the last year
- 336,000 adults suffer from serious mental illness (SMI)
- Almost 1,600 people died by suicide in the past year
- One in five adults in the United States experience mental illness every year
- Approximately 104,000 Georgians aged 12–17 struggle with depression
These statistics highlight the clear need for extensive mental health programs in the state of Georgia, as well as the whole of the United States. Hand in Hand Recovery aims to make treatment as effective and accessible as possible to those who are struggling.

Depression
Also referred to as depression disorder, depression involves prolonged periods of sadness, hopelessness, and a diminished interest in activities once enjoyed. There are various forms of depression, each with its own set of challenges. We offer individualized treatment programs that help tackle each person’s specific depression symptoms.
Anxiety
Characterized by excessive worry and fear, anxiety disorders often lead to persistent feelings of unease and apprehension. These emotions can intensify over time, significantly impacting daily life. Our team provides targeted therapies to help individuals manage these overwhelming feelings.
